The Birthday Massacre – In The Dark (2010)
Free-Music-Friday: N. U. C.
N.U.C. ist ein Synth-Goth-Trio aus Bremen, das in der Genre-klassischen Besetzung Gitarre, Bass, Keyboards und Drumcomputer antritt. 2005 von Sunny (Bass) und Sipo (Gesang/Gitarre) gegründet und kurz darauf von Teddy (Keyboards) komplettiert, traten N.U.C. bereits ein Jahr später beim WGT in Leipzig auf und veröffentlichten ihr erstes Album „Schattentanz„. Wie die Bezeichnung Synth-Goth schon vermuten läßt, trifft hier Metal-Gitarre auf Keyboard-Fläche, ganz in der Traditon von Red Lorry Yellow Lorry, Clan Of Xymox oder auch Funhouse. Die Texte sind in deutsch und englisch gehalten und und werden mit angenehmer Stimme vorgetragen.
Ende 2007 erschien dann „Metamorph„, auf diesem Album entwickelten sich N.U.C. mehr in Richtung Synth-Rock/Electro-Pop a la Crüxshadows, die Gitarre rückt dafür mehr in den Hintergrund, was dem Charme der Musik allerdings keinen Abbruch tut, sondern die Kreativität des Trios unterstreicht.
Derzeit bereiten N.U.C. die nächste Veröffentlichung vor, Name und Playlist des Mini-Albums stehen bereits fest. Auch „Gotika“ wird kostenlos unter Creative Commons erhältlich sein.

Neue EP von den Kites aus Sibirien
Neuen frischen Brit-Pop aus Sibirien liefern die Kites auf ihre neuen EP Catch The Moment. Am 15. Oktober 2010 habe ich die 4 Russen im Rahmen des Free-Music-Friday vorgestellt und war damals schon begeistert von ihrer Musik. Und ich kann euch sagen, die Jungs haben noch eine Schippe drauf gelegt, bleiben ihrem Stil zwischen Brit-Pop und Indie-Rock treu, aber klingen noch ausgereifter als auf den Vorgänger-EPs.
Wer von den bisherigen EPs begeistert war, für den besteht Downloadpflicht, aber jeder sollte hier mal ein Ohr riskieren.
